Venue

The 2010 IREC conference is to be held at Fafo, Borggata 2B, Oslo, Norway. The institute is located centrally at the east end of Oslo, within walking distance from most of the city centre hotels.

About Fafo

Fafo was founded by the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO) in 1982 and was reorganized as an independent research foundation in 1993. We conduct commissioned research for a wide range of actors, combined with publicly funded scientific research. Fafo cooperates with a broad range of academic networks and works in close contact and dialogue with customers and end-users of our research. We attach great importance to creating meeting places and disseminating knowledge emanating from our projects. Among the main Fafo areas of research are industrial relations, social policies, labour migration, vocational training and labour market inclusion.

 

About IREC

IREC was created in 1992 as a loose network of those researching into industrial relations in Europe. It has no formal organizational structure, and the main activity is to hold a conference, normally once a year.
